Week Review - Video finished!

Tuesday 11th February
This Tuesday, we began fulfilling our targets that had been set the week before, today we added more sound effects, relating them to the genre and it also added more effect to our opening sequence. For example we added the effect of the door creaking and closing, this made our sequence feel more like a thriller.

Wednesday 12th February
Today we finished the targets we had set for ourselves, and the teacher targets too. This left time for us to think and plan of other shots we could add into our sequence, which we will film in the lesson tomorrow.

Thursday 13th February
Today we went out to film the last clips for our opening sequence. These clips are to be used as flash back clips to add more of the psychological thriller effect. After adding another actor into the sequence, and filmed the last of the clips, we returned to the Mac suit, to add the clips onto the mac computer and edit them into the sequence.

Friday 14th February
Today was the final day for our opening sequence, Shannon and Lester polished the sequence off in their free periods before the start of our final lesson. During the lesson we watched the clip through time after time, and added in what we thought would add to the effect on the viewer, or take stuff out what we thought didn't suit the clip well. Also to test this, we viewed our sequence to other people in the class and asked for their opinions. When we knew we had finished our sequence, it was ready to be uploaded to our blogs!!!

Review of the Week

Our group were told that we have to have a draft of our opening sequence by Friday the 7th of February. We have been working hard all week we have not had a chance to blog!

Tuesday 4th February:
Today we spent this lesson re filming the corridor scenes, and in an empty office to do more filming. We re filmed because the first filming the characters were not wearing the correct costume, and it looked unprofessional. We only added one guard into the shots to make the scene seem more lonely.

Wednesday 5th February:
In today's lesson we began to upload the clips we had filmed, onto the Apple Macs (in Apple Mac suit), and began to edit what we had filmed. After school, me, Sophie and Lester, went to the Apex to film the shots we needed there.

Thursday 6th February:
In today's lesson we focused mainly on editing the clips we had filmed, preparing the video for the review by our teacher which will happen in tomorrow's lesson.

Friday 7th February:
Today we showed our opening sequence to our teacher, who then gave us targets to improve upon for the final deadline of Friday the 14th February (targets below!). After we then watched last years film clips, and were told to pick out some group targets to improve our opening sequence. These are our targets:

Teacher target:
Make middle of our opening sequence shorter because it moved too slowly

Group target:
-Make whole sequence as good as the beginning.
-Find appropriate clips to add in for more effect.
-Relate sounds to the genre.

30/01/14

Today we stayed in the classroom to create props, and do the Team Logo. Lester and Shannon's job was to do the logo, and Mine and Sophie's job was to do the prop. The prop was a 'Mental Hospital Release Form' and after doing extensive research I was able to find a template form which we used to help layout our Release Form. Sophie created the form, but I handed her the information to put on the form.
Lester and Shannon both created the Team Logo, which will feature in our opening sequence, and they also created the Logo for the Psychiatric Hospital which our opening sequence begins in.

29/01/14

On Thursday the 23rd of January we successfully did bits of shooting backstage in the hall. This is because it fitted our needs for an asylum looking place, as it was very plain, and had access to scenery and props.

On Friday 24th January we went to Apex to film, but the park being waterlogged in all possible areas of filming prevented us from doing so. We have now changed our filming in the Apex to Friday 31st January, we will be doing filming at Sophie's house sometime next week.

On Wednesday the 29th of January we successfully did bits of shooting for hall shots, featuring characters walking down the hall. This is for the inside of the Asylum.

This is a very useful schedule as we have planned from today, up to the deadline what we are going to be doing towards our opening scene. This also shows that we are using our time effectively, and it shows when we need to be finished by, allowing us to improve on our time management. It also tells us when we need to be editing, as we will need to start that hopefully when filming is finished. Provided we use our time wisely.

Deadline- 14th Feb
